After installing the S&S carb (which did work well) We decided to add volume to the crankcase by fabricating a vessel and fittings.. The vessel would be hose clamped to the front frame pin and connected with a rubber hose… Here’s a few shots of the parts…Welding and brazing with failing vision is a real challenge
The idea is to use the timing hole as a breather port, connected to a closed vessel..Adding volume to the crankcase, could reduce pumping drad and free up a few horsepower…Maybe………..
Ready for install except for the set screw and tapped hole for the copper elbow and timing hole adapter.. After installation and testing, we removed the device…No improvement in power or drop in crankcase pressure…Oh well, you don’t know if you don’t try!
