OK, those who know about the little misshap may want an update….The rider is now 90% and Green Ella is getting her damaged parts refurbished and or replaced with fine used parts….Here’s your update straight from Blind M…
After bead blasting the rear fork to remove the rust, it had a surface that resembled the moon….Pit City!…Not to worry, coating the fork with JB weld and then filing/sanding smooth will restore the surface and will be powder coated over…Thank goodness for modern chemicals..
OK all you garage builders…Here’s a crude way of fixing up the front (sprung) fork.. The legs were bent so………With heat…remove the tubing from the bridge and ends… Make new tubes from 1/2″ black pipe… Line it all up and braze it back together.. This one has the tubes extended and extra 1/2″ to raise the bike up a bit and keep those Anderson pegs off the asphalt in hard turns…
Not exactly the Wassel I planned on…Making due with cut up old rear fender…Will be mounted to the new sprung fork..Just enough fender to keep water out of your eyes…
