A week or so ago, we showed the installation of a Triump wheel/brake assembly on an old VL Harley. We put the backing plate on the left (stock location for the HD) . Today we moved the backing plate to the right side… Somebody who knows Triumph brakes will know why….
This was one week ago….Left sided…
A couple of changes were needed for the change..Here is a new reaction rod on the bottom, stocker on top for comparison..Yeah, we made the new one…Ya can’t buy stuff when modifying, ya hafta make it yourself..
A mounting lug for the reaction rod had to be fabricated and welded to the right fork leg..
Hey look!.. now the air scoop will face forward……..
The speedo sender needs a new mounting bracket and installed.. It’s that lump hanging on its’ wire by the lower brake cam arm..
Pretty much done!… We also centered the rim in the forks….Rim truing via spoke adjustment…
