Land Yacht and Chopper.
It’s cold. The lights should go up. The cards should be sent. Here’s a photo of Christmas fun.
A sea of red. Do you think these guys know Santa??
These are the bikes that could have saved Indian. A “modern” American lightweight. What a shame. They were beautiful bikes but came too late with too many teething problems. Harley’s K model was a mix of modern and traditional. It too had teething problems but, did survive for 6 years and evolved into the Sportster.
A rat rod for your viewing pleasure. Well, I like lookin at ’em.
The “Famous James” This is the type of machine we saw in the 1950’s that was used, cheap and available. Even if you were broke, they were something to desire. They ran good and looked good.
This 1926 James was not around in my area in the 50’s It’s way too cool for a schoolboy to even hope for.
This is the Condor……..and remember gun control means using both hands.
This is the late Bob Ross’s dirt bike. Note the oversized exhaust. “Ya can’t eat if ya can’t shit” was one of Bob’s sayings. This two cam could throttle wheelie in 2nd gear. Bob sort of inherited Eddy Ryan’s shop in Pedro. Bob renamed it Motorcycles Only. “We buy junk and sell fine used parts” was the motto. And yes, I do miss Bob. He was a great guy. And a terrific motorcycle mechanic.
I almost forgot.. Bob named this bike Hortense because he put ladies falsie cups on each side of the tanks as knee pads. There was a shortage of knee rubbers after the war and so he just used falsies. The bike got repainted and the falsies removed before this photo was taken in Tulare mid 1980’s.
