OK children, are you ready for a Thanksgiving day story? Here goes… Between 1923 and 1927 there was a motorcycle made in Germany that looked like a 101 Scout. So much so, that when Indian sued, production stopped. Now that’s all well and good. Here’s the interesting part. They made 45″ overhead valve version with dual exhaust ports.. I can’t help but wonder… Would the top end from a Mabeco OHV fit on a 101 Scout…. Do you think Paul Bigsby had that thought???? Well Mabeco also made a racer that was a 996cc OHV. If anyone has information on the Mabeco or photo’s.. Contact someone who cares…. Oh, that would be Blind Melon.
Sorry for the blurry photo. Pictures of this OHV bike are a little scarce. This is a 1927 Mabeco 750, or 45″, Sport Model.
This Mabeco is in the AMCA museum. Notice the twin leaf springs. Indian used a single leaf spring. It still looks like a copy..
Here’s hoping you have a peaceful, happy thanksgiving. Head knocking and hollerin’ should be kept to a minimum. No cursing. Remember little pitchers have big ears..
My Pal Troy really likes the color combo on this truck. Now he wants me to paint Ella’s frame orange. What do ya think?? Green tin and orange framed VD???
Some people just love trucks. And it’s irrational. But, there is a reason…..Check out this old land barge. Doane Truck
