July 14th, Bastille Day!

On July 14th, 1789  a civilian rebellion stormed the prison (Bastille) in Paris sparking the French  Revolution. Bastille Day is the English name for one of the most important national holidays in France.  The French refer to it as simply “July 14th” or “The National Celebration.”  Bastille day commemorates the birth of what the French consider to be their  current democratic political system. All throughout France Bastille day is one  of celebration, tradition and feasting.

Remember, the French helped the United States in its’ effort to become free of the English .        Viva La France!   God Bless America!
